The book begins with two articles (from 1906 and 1907) written by Homer Davenport, titled "The Arabian Horse: Its Present Place and Mission" and "Declaration of Intent."
There are other historical articles reprinted from various publications, as well as articles about modern descendants of the original Davenport imports and their breeders.
Articles include "Wadduda's Huja" (Arabic certificate of pedigree), "Part -Davenport Arabians," "The Truth About Davenports," "A Visit to Daenort's Farm," "Davenport Influence," "The Davenports at the Kellogg Ranch," "Davenports Show Athletic Ability," "The Amazing Persistence of Hanad," "The Forgotten Man: Peter Bradley's Role in Early American Breeding," "Carl Raswan Letters to Charles Craver," and "Interviews with Foundation Davenport Breeders," etc.
The book is illustrated by hundreds of black and white photos of foundation and modern Davenport Arabian horses. There is a handy index by horse's names, with bold print identifying pages with photos.
