by Carl Raswan
A complete reprint of the original Raswan Index. The original Index consisted of seven volumes that were published from 1957 – 1967, with less than 400 copies of each volume.
Today, the originals are rare and costly. However, the same information also appears in this reprint edition of two large volumes, making it an excellent value for researchers and breeders.
The Raswan Index is an alphabetized encyclopedia about the Arabian horse. The information was accumulated by Carl Raswan, who became an expert on the Arabian horse breed during extended visits to the desert, where he lived with the Bedouins, learning their language and customs.
Raswan later became famous as a writer of magazine articles and author of books about the Bedouins and their horses. He was an influential advisor to prominent American breeders of Arabian horses from the 1920s until his death in 1966.
Hard cover, two large volumes. Published in 1990.
