Lady Anne Blunt, A Biography $39.95

by HVF Winstone

The first actual biography of Lady Anne Blunt, founder of the Crabbet Stud of England and author of A Pilgrimage to Nejd and Bedouin Tribes of the Euphrates.

Written by English biographer HVF Winstone, this is a scholarly description of the life of Lady Anne Blunt, the first European woman to have journeyed to Central Arabia. It describes her unhappy life with the poet/politician as a result of his many amorous liaisons outside their marriage, and provides some new insights for those already familiar with many of the facts of her life.

This is perhaps the best introduction to Lady Anne Blunt's life. Readers looking for horse photos or information may be disappointed, although a few tidbits are scattered throughout the book. The Blunts' desert journeys are described in some detail, and the importance of the Arabian horses to Lady Anne's life is obvious throughout the book, which draws heavily on the diaries and letters of Lady Anne.
